US Open Tennis 2026 Spain viewers have one place to watch, and that is Movistar Plus+. Telefónica has held the exclusive Spanish rights since 2023, so there is no free to air channel and no Eurosport or DAZN feed. Any comparison page still sending you to Eurosport 1 is three years out of date.
The main draw runs from Sunday 30 August to Sunday 13 September at Flushing Meadows. Peninsular Spain is six hours ahead of New York, the friendliest gap in Europe: afternoon tennis and prime time finals.

US Open Tennis 2026 Spain TV Coverage on Movistar Plus+
Movistar Plus+ carries the tournament on its own channels and in the M+ streaming app. How much you see depends on your plan:
- Plan Libre: Cine, Series y Deportes. The streaming only subscription, 9,99 € a month, no minimum term. Movistar’s own wording for the four Grand Slams is “cada día el mejor partido, incluida la final”, so you get the pick of each day plus both singles finals, not every court.
- miMovistar TV packs. Telefónica fibre and satellite customers get the multi court coverage, spread across Movistar Plus+ on dial 7, Vamos por M+ and Deportes por M+, so outside courts and doubles are included.
- Not on Eurosport, DAZN or RTVE. Eurosport lost the US Open ahead of the 2023 edition and now covers the Australian Open, Roland Garros and the Laver Cup. Eurosport 1 and 2 sit inside Movistar tennis packages as channels, but neither shows this tournament.
Commentary is in Spanish under the #LaPistaDelTenis banner, with studio analysis between sessions. The M+ app runs on smart TVs, phones, tablets and browsers, plus Fire TV and Chromecast on older sets, and the subscription allows two simultaneous streams.

New York runs on Eastern Time. Spain is six hours ahead, so add six hours to any US start time. In the Canary Islands add five.
Three session windows matter each day:
- 17:00 CEST, outside courts, Grandstand and Louis Armstrong Stadium (11:00 ET).
- 17:30 CEST, Arthur Ashe Stadium day session (11:30 ET).
- 01:00 CEST, Arthur Ashe Stadium night session (19:00 ET). In Spain that lands in the early hours of the next morning.

Two nights need a plan. The women’s semifinals are played on Thursday evening in New York, which is 01:00 CEST on Friday 11 September in Spain. The men’s semifinals follow later that Friday, the first at 21:00 and the second at 01:00 on Saturday morning.

Watch the plan name at checkout. The 4,99 € tier is the entertainment pack and carries no sport, so the 9,99 € Deportes plan is the one you need. With nine days of tennis left, a single month is the cheapest legal route in, and you can cancel before the next billing date.
The same plan carries Wimbledon, the Davis Cup and most of the Masters 1000 events, from Indian Wells to Shanghai, so it earns its keep after New York.
Can You Watch the US Open Free in Spain?
Not live. The rights are exclusive to Movistar Plus+, there is no simulcast on RTVE, Teledeporte or any autonomic channel, and the sports plan has no free trial.
What is genuinely free:
- Planeta Tenis and other sports magazine shows on Movistar’s Plan Gratuito, which needs only an email. No live matches, but the analysis is there.
- Official highlights on the US Open YouTube channel, usually posted within hours of a match finishing.
- Point by point scoring and court cams in the official US Open app, plus match reports on Marca, AS and RTVE Deportes.

Spanish Players: Where the Draw Stands
Carlos Alcaraz is the last Spanish man in the singles, and he looks close to his best. The No. 2 seed returned from four months out with right wrist tenosynovitis and has dropped one set in three matches: Roman Safiullin 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, Jaime Faria 4-6, 6-0, 6-3, 6-2, then Wu Yibing 6-3, 6-4, 6-1. He meets American Tommy Paul, the No. 20 seed, in the round of 16 on Sunday 6 September. Court and session are published on Saturday evening.
Dani Mérida produced the Spanish story of the first week, beating Marton Fucsovics and then No. 23 seed Andrey Rublev 6-7(3), 6-2, 6-4, 6-4. His run ended in the third round against Alex Michelsen, 7-6, 6-4, 6-3.
The rest went early. Jaume Munar won a five set opener against Terence Atmane before losing to Arthur Rinderknech. Teenager Rafa Jódar, seeded 12th on his main draw debut, fell to lucky loser Yunchaokete Bu 6-2, 6-1, 6-1 without earning a break point. Carlos Taberner, Martín Landaluce and Pablo Carreño all lost in the first round, and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina withdrew before the tournament with a back injury.
Cristina Bucsa is the last Spaniard in the women’s draw. She survived a three tie break marathon against Himeno Sakatsume, 7-6(6), 6-7(0), 7-6, and plays Coco Gauff in the third round on Saturday 5 September, defending her fourth round run from 2025. Paula Badosa lost to Gauff in round two, 6-4, 7-6(5), Jéssica Bouzas Maneiro fell to Elena Rybakina 6-2, 6-4, Oksana Selekhmeteva went out in round two and Kaitlin Quevedo lost on debut.
Aryna Sabalenka is the top seed and two time defending champion, and she is through to the round of 16 chasing a third straight New York title. Total player compensation is a record 108 million dollars, up 20 percent on 2025, with 5,5 million to each singles champion and 140.000 dollars for a first round loss. Watching Movistar Plus+ Outside Spain
Movistar Plus+ terms confirm access across the whole European Economic Area, so a trip to Lisbon, Rome or Oslo works with no VPN and no surcharge under EU portability rules. In practice it is most reliable on phone, tablet and browser rather than a smart TV app abroad.
Outside the EEA the app geoblocks you. A VPN restores access by connecting you to a Spanish server before you open it. ExpressVPN is a reliable pick. You still need an active subscription, so this is for subscribers who travel, not a way around paying.
Tips for Watching from Spain
- The 17:00 slot is the sweet spot. Late afternoon in Spain is early play in New York, so you catch a full day session without losing sleep.
- Use replays for the 01:00 night session. Matches stay on demand in the M+ app, so watch over breakfast instead.
- Both finals are prime time. 22:00 on Saturday and 20:00 on Sunday, no alarm needed.
- Set up the app early. Sorting a login at 19:55 before the men’s final is not how you want to spend it.
