How to Watch the US Open Tennis 2026 Live Stream in the United States

ESPN is the exclusive US rights holder under a 12 year agreement with the USTA that runs through 2037 and started this season. Matches air on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNEWS and ABC, with Spanish commentary on ESPN Deportes.

One detail trips people up. ESPN+ has been retired as a brand. The two streaming tiers are ESPN Select and ESPN Unlimited.

ESPN Select vs ESPN Unlimited

PlanPriceWhat you get
ESPN Select$12.99 a month or $129.99 a yearThe old ESPN+ library. No ESPN linear channels
ESPN Unlimited$29.99 a month or $299.99 a yearEvery ESPN network plus every US Open court

Choose ESPN Unlimited if you want outer court tennis. It carries Multiview for four matches at once and start from beginning replays, both useful in week one when dozens of matches overlap.

Free coverage on Disney+

New for 2026. Standalone Disney+ subscribers with no ESPN plan get the whole opening day of the main draw on 30 August at no extra cost, plus the Fan Week exhibition Roger Federer: An Icon Returns to New York.

With a live TV bundle

ServicePrice a monthIncludes ESPN Unlimited?
Sling Essentials$19.99No, ESPN and ESPN2 channels
Sling Orange$45.99No, ESPN channels
Fubo Sports$64.99Yes, on eligible plans
DirecTV MySports$64.99Yes
YouTube TV$82.99No, ESPN channels
Fubo, main plan$88.99Yes, on eligible plans
Hulu + Live TV$89.99Yes

Sling Essentials launched in April 2026 and is now the cheapest bundle carrying ESPN and ESPN2. It does not carry ABC, so pair it with an antenna if you want the men’s final. If tennis is the only reason you are subscribing, ESPN Unlimited at $29.99 still beats every bundle for court access.

With a cable or satellite login

Sign in to the ESPN app with your TV provider details. Every ESPN and ABC window is included at no extra cost.

Where the finals air

The two finals are not on the same channel. The women’s singles final airs on ESPN on Saturday 12 September at 4 p.m. ET. The men’s singles final airs on ABC on Sunday 13 September at 2 p.m. ET, which makes it the one match an antenna alone can get you.

Fan Week on ESPN

Qualifying runs 24 to 27 August on ESPN2, with 14 courts streaming in the ESPN app. The Mixed Doubles Championship added a qualifying round on 24 August, free to attend in the Grandstand, then plays its main draw 25 to 26 August with the final on ESPN at 9 p.m. ET on the Wednesday. Use these days to test your setup before the main draw.

How to Watch US Open 2026 in the UK and Ireland

Sky Sports has exclusive rights in both markets, covering singles, doubles, mixed doubles, junior and wheelchair events. There is no free to air television coverage.

Sky customers watch on Sky Sports Tennis and Sky Sports Main Event, or stream through Sky Go at no extra cost.

Without Sky, use NOW. A Sports Membership is £34.99 a month with no contract, or £28.99 a month on the 12 month Sports Saver. A one off Sports Day Membership costs £14.99 and covers 24 hours, which is the cheapest legal way to watch finals weekend.

For free follow along coverage, BBC Sport carries radio commentary and live text on the biggest matches. Night sessions start at midnight UK time, so a phone app usually beats the television.

How to Watch US Open 2026 in Europe

European coverage changed shape this year. Warner Bros. Discovery has taken on host broadcast duties with the USTA for the first time, so every match on every court streams on HBO Max across the continent. HBO Max coverage started 24 August with qualifying.

HBO Max carries Multiview and a Key Moments feature that jumps you to the turning points of a match. Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 run 265 hours of live action across 45 markets, with John McEnroe, Mats Wilander, Justine Henin and Johanna Konta courtside from 16.30 CEST each day, 17.00 in week two. Eurosport coverage begins with the main draw on 30 August.

How to Watch US Open 2026 in Canada

TSN carries English coverage and RDS carries French. Cable and satellite customers stream free through the TSN app with a provider login, which is the cheapest option if you already pay for TV.

Without cable, TSN+ costs CA$29.99 a month or CA$249.99 a year and includes qualifying and every court. Bell raised these prices on 14 April 2026 from CA$24.99 and CA$199.90, so older guides quoting the lower figures are out of date.

How to Watch US Open Tennis 2026 Free in Australia

Australia gets the best free access anywhere. Nine shows selected matches free to air on Channel 9, 9Gem and 9Go, and streams the same matches free on 9Now with a free account. No trial, no card. Nine holds all four Grand Slams under a deal running through 2029.

The trade off is choice. Nine picks marquee matches, so most outer court tennis is missing. For every match live and ad free, add Stan Sport at AU$20 a month to a base Stan plan. Stan Basic is AU$12 and Stan Standard is AU$17, but 4K needs Stan Premium at AU$22, so a genuine 4K setup costs AU$42 a month.

New York night sessions start at 9 a.m. AEST the next morning, which makes Australia the friendliest time zone for this tournament.

How to Watch US Open 2026 in India and South Asia

JioStar holds the rights across India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan, Bhutan and the Maldives. Star Sports carries television coverage and JioHotstar streams on phones, tablets, laptops and smart TVs, usually with regional language commentary alongside English.

JioHotstar restructured its plans on 28 January 2026. Mobile is ₹79 a month, Super is ₹149 a month for two devices, and Premium is ₹299 a month for four devices. Live sport carries ads on every tier.

Timing is the real hurdle. Night sessions begin at 4.30 a.m. IST. Day sessions are far kinder at around 8.30 p.m. IST.

How to Watch US Open 2026 in New Zealand

Disney+ is the exclusive New Zealand home of the US Open, with every court streaming live. If you read elsewhere that TVNZ shows it free, that is out of date. TVNZ held the rights several years ago and no longer does.

Auckland runs 16 hours ahead of New York, so most main draw days begin around 3 a.m. NZST. The women’s final starts about 8 a.m. on Sunday 13 September and the men’s final about 6 a.m. on Monday 14 September, both far more watchable than the first week.

Can You Watch the US Open 2026 Free?

Yes, five ways.

  • Disney+ opening day. Every Disney+ subscriber gets all of 30 August free, with no ESPN plan needed.
  • The men’s final on ABC. Sunday 13 September at 2 p.m. ET. An antenna picks up your local affiliate at no cost. The women’s final is on ESPN, so it is not free over the air.
  • 9Now in Australia. Selected matches stream free with a free account. The largest free live offering in the world.
  • Free trials. Fubo, Hulu + Live TV and DirecTV all run short trials in the United States. Start one in week two and you cover quarterfinals and semifinals.
  • On the grounds. Entry is free for all seven Fan Week days and again on Open for All Day, Thursday 10 September. That is eight free days, the most in tournament history. Adults need the free Fan Access Pass in the US Open app. See our US Open tickets guide for details.

Skip unofficial streaming sites. They buffer, they carry malware ads, and they are illegal in most countries.

How to Watch Your US Open Tennis 2026 Live Stream From Abroad

Streaming services check your location. Leave the country and Sky Go, 9Now, TSN and JioHotstar stop working.

A VPN routes you through a server back home so your service behaves normally. We tested several on live tennis and ExpressVPN held HD quality best across Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, Fire TV Stick, PlayStation, Xbox and most smart TVs.

  1. Sign up for ExpressVPN and install the app.
  2. Connect to a server in your home country.
  3. Open your usual service, such as 9Now for Australia.
  4. Start the stream.

Use a VPN to reach a subscription you already pay for while travelling. It is not a route to pirate streams.

FAQ: Watching the US Open Tennis 2026

Where can I watch the US Open 2026 live stream free?

Disney+ unlocks the full first day of the main draw on 30 August for all subscribers. ABC shows the men’s singles final free over the air on 13 September. In Australia, 9Now streams selected matches free all fortnight. Fubo, Hulu + Live TV and DirecTV also run short free trials in the United States.

What time do US Open matches start each day?

Day sessions on the show courts start around 11 a.m. ET and night sessions around 7 p.m. ET. The USTA releases the full order of play the evening before, which confirms exact times. A 7 p.m. ET night session is midnight in the UK, 4.30 a.m. in India, 9 a.m. in Sydney and 11 a.m. in Auckland.

What channel are the US Open 2026 finals on?

The two finals split across channels. The women’s singles final is on ESPN on Saturday 12 September at 4 p.m. ET. The men’s singles final is on ABC on Sunday 13 September at 2 p.m. ET, so only the men’s final is available free with an antenna.

Is ESPN+ still available for the US Open?

The ESPN+ name has been retired. ESPN Select at $12.99 a month or $129.99 a year replaces it, and ESPN Unlimited at $29.99 a month or $299.99 a year adds every ESPN network plus every US Open court. Select alone will not give you the main linear coverage.

What is the cheapest way to watch the US Open in the United States?

Sling Essentials at $19.99 a month is the cheapest bundle carrying ESPN and ESPN2, though it does not include ABC or outer court streams. ESPN Unlimited at $29.99 a month is the cheapest route to every court. Both beat Fubo, YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV on price for tennis alone.

Do I need an extra subscription for qualifying and mixed doubles?

No. Both are included with the plans that carry the main draw. In the United States, qualifying runs 24 to 27 August on ESPN2 with 14 courts in the ESPN app, and the Mixed Doubles Championship final airs on ESPN at 9 p.m. ET on 26 August.

Is the US Open streamed in 4K?

Stan Sport offers 4K in Australia, but it requires a Stan Premium base plan at AU$22 plus the AU$20 Sport add on. Elsewhere expect HD up to 1080p, with 4K limited to selected coverage rather than the full tournament.

Is it legal to use a VPN to watch the US Open?

VPNs are legal in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and most of Europe. Using one may still breach your streaming service terms, so it is best used to reach a subscription you already pay for while travelling.

Which Service Should You Pick?

Lock in your US Open Tennis 2026 live stream before 30 August and test it during Fan Week, while qualifying and mixed doubles are already streaming. In the United States, take Sling Essentials at $19.99 if show court matches are enough, or ESPN Unlimited at $29.99 for every court. Canadians with a TV provider should use the free TSN app login rather than paying CA$29.99 for TSN+. Australians should start with free 9Now and add Stan Sport only if outer court tennis matters. UK viewers who only want finals weekend should buy the £14.99 NOW day pass instead of a full month.
