For US Open Tennis 2026 Canada viewers have one home: TSN in English and RDS in French. Bell Media holds the Canadian rights under a long term extension with the USTA, so every session runs through those two brands and their apps. There is no free to air option.
The 146th edition runs Sunday 23 August to Sunday 13 September. Fan Week opens the grounds on 23 August and the singles main draw starts Sunday 30 August. New York sits in the Eastern time zone, so Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal watch on local time with no conversion needed.

Atlantic Canada adds an hour to ET, putting the night session at 8:00 pm AT. Newfoundland adds ninety minutes, so 8:30 pm NT. Saskatchewan stays on CST all year, which matches the Mountain column in summer.
One exception: the men’s quarterfinal evening on Wednesday 9 September starts at 7:30 pm ET. Only the first match of each session has a fixed start, so rain and five set marathons push everything after it back.

Three Canadian men hold direct main draw places. Félix Auger-Aliassime leads them at world No. 4, a career high he reached in June. He has made the US Open semifinals twice, in 2021 and again last year, and is the strongest Canadian title chance in New York. Denis Shapovalov (No. 48) returns to the site of his 2020 quarterfinal, still the first by a Canadian man in the Open era, and Gabriel Diallo takes the third spot.
Leylah Fernandez is the leading Canadian woman at No. 31 and a direct entry. Her run to the 2021 final at 19 remains the best Canadian showing of the decade.
Two names worth flagging. Bianca Andreescu, the 2019 champion and still the only Canadian to win a US Open singles title, plays qualifying for the first time since 2018 after injury dropped her outside the top 150. Victoria Mboko, ranked No. 17 and the highest ranked Canadian woman, has withdrawn with a knee injury. Alexis Galarneau, Marina Stakusic, Kayla Cross and Rebecca Marino are also in qualifying, which runs 24 to 27 August.
In doubles, Gabriela Dabrowski is the story. She and Erin Routliffe are the defending women’s doubles champions, having won in 2023 and again in 2025, and she sits at No. 3 in the world. Doubles entry lists are published with the draw on 27 August.
At the top of the singles draws, Carlos Alcaraz defends the men’s title after a four month wrist absence, with no warm up event behind him. Aryna Sabalenka is the two time defending champion and can become the first woman to win three US Opens in a row since Serena Williams in 2014 to 2016. Prize money hits a record $108 million, roughly 20 percent up on 2025, with $5.5 million to each singles champion and $140,000 for a first round loss.

The week before the main draw carries two events Canadian fans should mark, both on Arthur Ashe Stadium:
- Roger Federer: An Icon Returns to New York, Tuesday 25 August, 7:30 pm ET. His first appearance on Ashe since 2019, sharing the court with Andy Roddick, Andre Agassi and John McEnroe.
- Mixed Doubles Championship finals night, Wednesday 26 August, 7:00 pm ET. Sixteen star teams, shortened sets and $1 million to the winners. Qualifying is Monday 24 August, with the first round and quarterfinals on Tuesday 25 August.
