US Open Tennis 2026 Results Today, Day by Day
The board above carries every completed match. Here is what has shaped the tournament so far.
Thursday, September 10: the women’s semifinals. Aryna Sabalenka plays Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff plays Elena Rybakina. It is the first women’s semifinal line-up at the US Open to feature all four top seeds since 1975. Rybakina can also take the world No. 1 ranking from Sabalenka depending on how the week ends.
Friday, September 11: the men’s semifinals. Ben Shelton meets Frances Tiafoe in an all-American semifinal, which guarantees a home player in the final for the first time in years. No American man has won a Grand Slam singles title since Andy Roddick here in 2003. Alexander Zverev plays Karen Khachanov in the other half.
Quarterfinals: the defending champion is beaten. Ben Shelton produced the best tennis of his career to knock out Carlos Alcaraz 6-7, 6-1, 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 in a match that finished at 3:33 a.m. Eastern. Frances Tiafoe came from two sets down to beat Alex Michelsen 5-7, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3, 7-6. Alexander Zverev beat Botic van de Zandschulp 6-2, 7-5, 6-1, and Karen Khachanov led Alexander Blockx 6-2, 7-5, 2-2 when the Belgian retired injured.
In the women’s quarterfinals, Sabalenka survived Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova 7-6 (1), 3-6, 7-6 (7). Gauff saved two match points in a second set tiebreak to beat French Open champion Mirra Andreeva 2-6, 7-6 (7), 6-2. Pegula recovered from a set down against Emma Navarro to win 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, and Rybakina beat qualifier Qinwen Zheng 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.
Fourth round. Rybakina ended Naomi Osaka’s run 6-1, 6-4, Zheng knocked out No. 8 seed Iga Swiatek, and Khachanov beat No. 14 seed Learner Tien in five sets. Alcaraz had beaten Tommy Paul, Tiafoe beat No. 7 seed Daniil Medvedev, and Michelsen reached the last eight without dropping a set, the first unseeded man to do that at this tournament this century.
Week one: Djokovic’s earliest major exit in 20 years. Mariano Navone beat the No. 4 seed 7-6, 5-7, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 in 4 hours 36 minutes on day one, ending a run of 78 straight first round wins. Khachanov then knocked out No. 3 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime, Botic van de Zandschulp beat No. 6 seed Alex de Minaur, and No. 24 seed Francisco Cerundolo came from two sets down to end No. 9 seed Taylor Fritz. Every shock is logged on our US Open upsets tracker.
Top Seeds and Defending Champions
Aryna Sabalenka is the two-time defending champion and No. 1 seed. A third title in a row would make her the first woman to three-peat in New York since Serena Williams in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Carlos Alcaraz defended the men’s title as the No. 2 seed but lost in the quarterfinals. The two draws could not have gone more differently: the women’s top four all reached the semifinals, while six of the men’s top eight are gone.

How to Read the Scorelines
Men’s singles matches are best of five sets. Women’s singles matches are best of three. If a set reaches 6-6, a tiebreak to seven points decides it, shown in brackets after the set score, as in 7-6 (3).
The deciding set works differently. At 6-6 in the third set for women or the fifth set for men, players contest an extended tiebreak to 10 points, win by two. Retirements appear as “ret.” and walkovers as “w/o”. More on the format is in our guide to how many rounds the US Open has.
Finals Results
The women’s singles final is Saturday, September 12 at 4 p.m. Eastern. The men’s singles final is Sunday, September 13, not before 2 p.m. Eastern. Both are played on Arthur Ashe Stadium, and both scorelines are added here as soon as the trophy is presented.
Following the Draw as Results Come In
Results tell you what happened. The bracket shows what it means, carrying every winner forward through the tree. The draw page maps the paths to the final.
While matches are in progress, the live scores board updates set by set instead of waiting for a match to finish. Ranking movement during the fortnight is tracked on our live tennis rankings page.

For earlier years, every men’s singles champion and final scoreline of the Open era is in our US Open men’s singles winners list, covering 1968 to 2025.
