US Open Tennis 2026: Italy TV, Start Time, Schedule, Live Stream

US Open Tennis 2026 Italy coverage is the best value of any Grand Slam. Every match is free to air on SuperTennis, channel 64 on digital terrestrial and 212 by satellite, with no subscription and no registration. Sky Sport and NOW carry the same tournament in simulcast for anyone who wants to pick their own court.

The main draw runs Sunday 30 August to Sunday 13 September at Flushing Meadows, with qualifying and the mixed doubles from 24 August. Italy is six hours ahead of New York, so day play lands at 17:00 and the night session at 01:00.

Here are the channels, Italian start times, streaming costs and the Azzurri to follow.

US Open Tennis 2026 Italy TV Channels

Sportcast, the FITP company behind SuperTennis, renewed its USTA contract in August 2025 for exclusive free to air coverage through 2030. Sky holds its own US Open rights until 2027 and runs in simulcast. Italy is the only major European market where the whole tournament is free.

SuperTennis multichannel (HbbTV)Overlay on channel 64Free, 4 extra courts on a connected TV
Sky Sport Tennis203Sky subscription with Sport pack
Sky Sport Uno201Marquee matches and night sessions

Two things are worth knowing before day one:

  • One channel cannot show every court. Up to nine matches run at once, so SuperTennis puts the best match of each session on channel 64.
  • Four more courts are free on a smart TV. Connect the set to the internet, tune to 64, then press the up arrow on the remote when the prompt appears. That opens the HbbTV multichannel with four extra live matches at no cost. If channel 64 is missing, run an automatic channel scan first.

US Open Tennis 2026 Italy Start Times and Schedule

New York runs on Eastern Time, six hours behind Italy during the tournament. Add six hours to any American start time.

  • 17:00, outside courts, Grandstand and Louis Armstrong open play (11:00 ET).
  • 17:30, Arthur Ashe Stadium day session (11:30 ET). Opening Sunday on Ashe starts at 18:00.
  • 01:00, Arthur Ashe night session (19:00 ET). The marquee match, and the reason Italian fans lose sleep.

Both finals fall in Italian prime time, which is rare for a New York Slam. Treat the two finals times as the expected windows: the USTA and ESPN confirm exact starts closer to the day, and the full telecast grid was still unpublished as this page was checked.

Only the first match on each court has a fixed start. Everything after runs on a “not before” basis, so one long five setter pushes the rest of the day back. Check the order of play the evening before on usopen.org, or see our full US Open 2026 schedule.

SuperTennis daily running order

SuperTennis wraps the tennis in Italian studio coverage every day of the fortnight:

  • 13:30, half hour studio from Rome reviewing the overnight results.
  • 16:45, SuperTennis Today, Speciale US Open live from New York.
  • 17:00, first match, then continuous live play until the last ball, closing with a Best of round up.

How to Live Stream the US Open in Italy

Three legal streaming routes carry the same tournament at very different prices.

ServicePriceBest for
SuperTennis+Free for FITP members, otherwise €1.99 a monthEvery court live, replays and highlights
NOW Pass Sport€29.99 a month rolling, or €19.99 a month on a 12 month tie inSky Sport channels with no dish or decoder
Sky GoIncluded with a Sky Sport subscriptionExisting Sky customers on mobile and laptop

Note the rebrand. SuperTenniX became SuperTennis+ on 11 August 2026. Old links redirect, existing accounts carry over with no new registration, and the app now covers mobile, web and smart TV in one place.\

A valid FITP card makes it free, since the subscription is bundled into the membership fee. Everyone else pays €1.99 a month, which is the cheapest way to watch any Grand Slam in Italy.

Read the NOW small print. The Pass Sport carries the tournament from 30 August to 13 September. The headline €19.99 price locks you in for 12 months and is limited to new customers who activate by 31 August, after which it renews at €29.99.

For a two week tournament the rolling €29.99 pass is the cleaner choice, and it only makes sense if you also want Serie A, Formula 1 or MotoGP, because SuperTennis shows the same headline matches for nothing.

Can You Watch the US Open Free in Italy?

Yes, and Italy is one of the few countries where that covers the whole tournament. Channel 64 shows live matches from first round to final at no cost, with Italian commentary. Before 2023 the tournament sat behind pay TV in Italy for 34 years.

Two extras also cost nothing:

  • The HbbTV multichannel on a connected smart TV, worth four extra live courts.
  • Official highlights on the US Open YouTube channel, posted within hours of each session.

Skip pirate streams. With a legal free option on national television there is no reason to risk malware or a feed that dies at match point. Country by country options sit in our US Open live stream guide.

Italians to Watch in New York

Ten Azzurri are in the singles main draws, with 17 more in qualifying from 24 August.

  • Men: Jannik Sinner, Lorenzo Musetti, Flavio Cobolli, Matteo Berrettini, Matteo Arnaldi, Luciano Darderi, Lorenzo Sonego and Mattia Bellucci.
  • Women: Jasmine Paolini and Elisabetta Cocciaretto.

Sinner is the open question. The world No. 1 skipped Toronto and Cincinnati with a right knee problem and has been training and receiving treatment in Turin. As of 21 August he had not confirmed he will travel, and he has said he will only play if the knee is fully healed. Seedings follow the rankings published on 24 August, so the picture firms up that week.

Alcaraz is back. The defending champion confirmed on 20 August that he will play, ending four months out with a right wrist injury picked up in Barcelona in April that cost him Madrid, Rome, Roland Garros and Wimbledon. Aryna Sabalenka defends the women’s title.

Errani and Vavassori go for three in a row. The Mixed Doubles Championship runs 24 to 26 August and the champions of 2024 and 2025 return on a wild card. Flavio Cobolli plays with Belinda Bencic as a direct entry. Lorenzo Musetti has entered with Marta Kostyuk, after originally naming Anna Kalinskaya, and the pair are still waiting on one of the last wild cards. The semifinals and final are on Arthur Ashe on the night of 26 August, which is 01:00 on 27 August in Italy.

The full field and every withdrawal sit on our players page.

Watching From Outside Italy

SuperTennis, SuperTennis+, NOW and Sky Go are all geo restricted to Italy. Cross the border and the live feed stops.

A VPN restores your usual access by connecting you to an Italian server before you open the app. ExpressVPN is a reliable pick. Install it, choose an Italian location, then sign in as normal. This is for existing account holders who travel, not a way around paying.

Tips for Italian Viewers

  • Retune channel 64 before 30 August. Fixing a missing channel at 01:00 during a Sinner match is no fun.
  • Use the 17:00 window on weekdays. Day sessions run to around midnight here, so you get a full afternoon of tennis without an all nighter.
  • Watch night sessions on replay. SuperTennis+ keeps matches on demand, so 01:00 starts can wait until morning.
  • Turn off score notifications if you plan to watch later. One push alert ruins a five setter.
