US Open Tennis 2026: Italy TV, Start Time, Schedule, Live Stream

US Open Tennis 2026 Italy coverage is still the best value at any Grand Slam. Every match is free to air on SuperTennis, channel 64 on digital terrestrial and 212 by satellite, with no subscription and no registration. Sky Sport and NOW carry the same tennis in simulcast for anyone who wants to pick their own court.

The main draw runs Sunday 30 August to Sunday 13 September at Flushing Meadows. Italy sits six hours ahead of New York, so day play starts at 17:00 CEST and the night session at 01:00. The round of 16 begins on Sunday 6 September.

Channels, Italian start times, streaming prices and the Azzurri still in the draw.

US Open Tennis 2026 Italy TV Channels

Sportcast, the FITP company behind SuperTennis, extended its USTA deal on 24 August 2025 for exclusive free to air rights through 2030. Sky shows the tournament in simulcast with SuperTennis under a multi year partnership. Italy is one of the very few European markets where the whole draw is free.

  • One channel cannot show every court. As many as nine courts are in play at once, so SuperTennis puts the pick of each session on channel 64.
  • Four courts at once are free on a smart TV. Connect the set to the internet, tune to 64, then press the up arrow when the prompt appears. Some sets use the green button instead. That opens the HbbTV multichannel at no cost. If channel 64 is missing, run an automatic channel scan first.

US Open Tennis 2026 Italy Start Times and Schedule

New York runs on Eastern Time, six hours behind Italy. Add six hours to any American start time.

  • 17:00, outside courts, Grandstand and Louis Armstrong (11:00 a.m. ET).
  • 17:30, Arthur Ashe Stadium day session (11:30 a.m. ET).
  • 01:00, Arthur Ashe night session (7:00 p.m. ET). The marquee match, and the reason Italian fans lose sleep.

The first three rounds are done, played from 30 August to 5 September. Here is what is left.

Both finals land in Italian prime time, which is rare for a New York Slam. Only the first match on each court has a fixed start. Everything after it runs on a “not before” basis, so one long five setter pushes the rest of the day back. SuperTennis daily running order

  • 13:30, half hour studio from Rome with Elena Ramognino, reviewing the overnight results.
  • 16:45, SuperTennis Today, Speciale US Open, live from Flushing Meadows.
  • 17:00, first match, then continuous live play until the last ball, closing with a Best of round up.

How to Live Stream the US Open in Italy

Three legal streaming routes carry the same tennis at very different prices.

ServicePriceBest for
SuperTennis+Free tier, €1.99 a month for the full service, free for FITP membersEvery court live, replays on demand, interviews
NOW Pass Sport€29.99 a month rolling, or €19.99 a month on a 12 month planSky Sport channels with no dish or decoder
Sky GoIncluded with a Sky Sport subscriptionExisting Sky customers on mobile and laptop

Note the rebrand. SuperTenniX became SuperTennis+ on 11 August 2026. Old accounts carry over with no new registration, and one app now covers mobile, web and smart TV. A free account gets the live channel feed and news. The €1.99 tier unlocks the extra court feeds and on demand replays, and a valid FITP card makes that free, because the subscription sits inside the membership fee.

Read the NOW small print. The Pass Sport carries the tournament to 13 September. The headline €19.99 price ties you to 12 months and runs to 30 September 2026, after which it renews at €29.99. For the closing week the rolling €29.99 pass is the cleaner choice, and it only pays off if you also want Serie A, Formula 1 or MotoGP, because SuperTennis shows the same headline matches for nothing.

Can You Watch the US Open Free in Italy?

Yes, and here free covers the whole tournament. Channel 64 carries live matches from first round to final with Italian commentary. Before the SuperTennis era the US Open sat behind pay TV in Italy for 34 years.

Two extras also cost nothing: the HbbTV multichannel on a connected smart TV, worth four courts at once, and official highlights on the US Open YouTube channel, posted within hours of each session.

Skip pirate streams. With a legal free option on national television there is no reason to risk malware or a feed that dies at match point. Country by country options sit in our US Open live stream guide.

Azzurri Still in the Draw

Italy started the fortnight with nine players in the singles main draws and no Jannik Sinner. The world No. 1 withdrew on 21 August with the right knee injury that had already cost him Toronto and Cincinnati.

As of Saturday 5 September, two Italians are left in singles, both chasing a first US Open round of 16:

  • Flavio Cobolli plays Alexander Blockx at 18:30 on Louis Armstrong, after beating Tristan Schoolkate 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-5.
  • Luciano Darderi meets Dane Sweeny not before 20:00 on Court 5, after a 6-3, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 win over Dalibor Svrcina.

Already out. Jasmine Paolini lost 6-3, 6-3 to Sorana Cirstea in the third round, so no Italian woman reaches the second week. Lorenzo Musetti and Mattia Bellucci went out in the second round, to Sweeny and Taylor Fritz, and Matteo Berrettini fell there to Mariano Navone. Lorenzo Sonego took Alexander Zverev to five sets in the first round and lost 4-6, 6-3, 7-6, 5-7, 4-6, with Matteo Arnaldi beaten by James Duckworth and Elisabetta Cocciaretto by Katerina Siniakova in the same round.

Doubles keeps the flag up. Fourth seeds Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori are through to the second round and face Verbeek and Gille. Matteo Arnaldi and Jan Lennard Struff meet top seeds Patten and Heliovaara, while Sara Errani and Lilli Tagger take on second seeds Dabrowski and Stefani.

The Mixed Doubles Championship ran 24 to 26 August. Errani and Vavassori, champions in 2024 and 2025, lost in the first round to Mirra Andreeva and Andrey Rublev. Cobolli reached the final with Belinda Bencic and lost 6-3, 1-6, 10-6 to Karolina Muchova and Jakub Mensik. Full fields and withdrawals sit on our players page.

Watching From Outside Italy

SuperTennis, SuperTennis+, NOW and Sky Go are all geo restricted to Italy. Cross the border and the live feed stops.

A VPN restores your usual access by connecting you to an Italian server before you open the app. ExpressVPN is a reliable pick. Install it, choose an Italian location, then sign in as normal. This is for account holders who travel, not a way around paying.

Tips for Italian Viewers

  • Use the 17:00 window. Day play runs to around midnight here, so you get a full afternoon and evening of tennis without an all nighter.
  • Watch night sessions on replay. SuperTennis+ keeps matches on demand, so 01:00 starts can wait until morning.
  • Turn off score notifications if you plan to watch later. One push alert ruins a five setter.
